Susan Lillian "Sue" Townsend, FRSL (2 April 1946 – 10 April 2014) was an English novelist and playwright, best known as the author of the Adrian Mole books.
Townsend suffered from diabetes for many years, as a result of which she was registered blind in 2001,
and she wove this theme into her work. In September 2009, she received a
